City of Portland Citywide Employee Charitable Campaign
Our mission states a powerful commitment to the Portland Community to drive positive change for underserved youth and adults through alternative education, mentoring, family outreach, employment training, and placement programs. This week, POIC + RAHS was invited to participate in the City of Portland Citywide Employee Charitable Campaign. We were given a platform to illuminate the stories of those we serve. Our partnership with the City of Portland stands as a powerful testament to the transformative potential of collaboration. Together, we are making impactful strides in addressing immediate needs and fostering a sustainable environment for long-term growth for future generations.

First and foremost, we owe a massive thank you to the City of Portland for their unwavering support as a key partner. They have been instrumental in backing POIC + RAHS through funding like the SEED Grant, investments from the Portland Children's Levy, and the Portland Clean Energy Fund. The City has become a cornerstone in scaling up our work. These funds empower the POIC Community Care Team, a vital force in the City's ongoing battle against community violence. Moreover, they contribute significantly to our overarching goal of providing essential support for children and teens while actively working to diversify the workforce from internships to career-track jobs.
At The Event
CEO Joe McFerrin II, our Leadership team, and the POIC Construction Pre-Apprenticeship program participants had meaningful conversations with dedicated City employees. We shared our vision and highlighted the tangible impact that City contracts and funding have on our programs.
During this collaborative event, POIC also had the opportunity to connect with individuals who share a passion for helping Portland thrive as a community. These discussions were bridges connecting diverse perspectives, experiences, and aspirations for the future of underserved youth and adults in Portland.
