The anticipation in the air was palpable as educators, coaches, community leaders, parents, and students gathered to celebrate the much-anticipated launch of the Rosemary Anderson Prep program. This innovative new school program promises to redefine education by providing a comprehensive suite of support to ensure every student's success, focusing on building relationships with students and families and discovering relevant pathways to post-secondary aspirations that leverage their passions. RA Prep will use academic rigor to track progress and celebrate growth while providing an access point for re-engagement, no matter the circumstances. Rosemary Anderson Prep will raise the bar for educational programs. The launch party was a celebration and testament to the power of collaboration and the commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders.

A Vision Aligned with Excellence 

At the heart of Rosemary Anderson Prep lies a commitment to academic excellence. Jeffrey McGee, Principal at RAHS Lents Campus, spoke at the event, highlighting all the program will offer students academically, including integrating a Common Core State Standard-aligned curriculum that ensures that students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for success in the modern world. His presentation showcased the program's dedication to fostering intellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills that will empower students to excel academically and professionally.

Charting Paths to the Future

In addition to holistic and mental health support, preparing students for life beyond the classroom is a cornerstone of Rosemary Anderson Prep. Cobi Lewis, CEO and Executive Director of MESO, spoke to the college/career/entrepreneurial exploration support, emphasizing that education is not a means to an end but a path to lifelong learning. The program's commitment to guiding students toward higher education and potential entrepreneurial pursuits is made possible through this partnership with MESO.

Learning Through Experience 

Attendees were impressed by the 400+ PAID internships POIC facilitates across the city. Meg Bell, Director of Employment and Training, reiterated the promise of an internship or job shadow opportunity for every RA Prep program participant. This hands-on experience is a testament to Rosemary Anderson Prep's dedication to bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. The program aims to empower students to make informed decisions about their future careers by providing real-world exposure.
