The Class of 2023

For the first time since 2019, the four Rosemary Anderson High School campuses came together for an all-out, in-person graduation ceremony!

Rosemary Anderson High School teachers being honored during the commencement ceremony.

Following the Star Spangled Banner and a rendition of ‘Lift Every Voice and Sing,’ the ceremony was filled with impassioned speeches from Principals and students. During the Commencement Address, POIC board member Alicia Fratto reminded graduates that the culmination of hundreds of their daily choices led to this incredible accomplishment, and reveled in the students’ resilience and commitment to their futures.

Roaring applause broke out during a special moment when teachers and school staff stood and were celebrated. These teachers and school staff walk hand in hand with students daily, pushing them to be the best version of themselves and supporting them through all their tough days. It was as proud a moment for the graduates as it was for the teachers and staff who’s hard work helped get them to this day.

A select senior represented every campus with a speech, thanking their teachers and celebrating their success. Student Amaya Upton’s speech touched the hearts of the room as she honored her late father, uplifted herself with words of affirmation, and brought energy and excitement to her accomplishment.

I beat the odds. I am Black excellence. I am resilient, and I am a leader.
— Amaya Upton, North Campus

Valedictorians, salutatorians, and scholarship recipients were honored in the ceremony with special spotlights on each. The Future Connect Scholarship, Rosemary Anderson Scholarship, Honor Cord Award, and Delta Phi Boule Aspire Scholarship were bestowed on graduates for their excellence in academics and for their honorable character.

President + CEO Joe McFerrin II led the graduating class into the big moment of turning their tassels and officially becoming high school graduates. Congratulations to the Rosemary Anderson High School Class of 2023!

Time to celebrate!
