Over the past several months, POIC+RAHS has been actively working in partnership with Kids at Hope to highlight the importance of “community” in youth development and to foster the understanding that “All children are capable of success, no exceptions” (Rick Miller, Founder, Kids at Hope).
Kids at Hope is a national initiative that studies family, school, and community cultures to better understand variations of success. We are proud to be implementing their renowned philosophy that takes youth from risk to hope at our RAHS Lents and New Columbia campuses this school year.
Earlier this month, POIC+RAHS teachers and community outreach workers, along with staff from several Multnomah County programs, attended multiple training seminars given by the Kids at Hope Founder, Rick Miller; Executive Director, Wally Endicott; and experts in youth development.
If you would like to learn more about how we are implementing the Kids at Hope philosophy in our classrooms, please contact Caryl Zenker, Director of Development, to schedule a campus tour and experience first hand how our community is changing young lives.
